What is Hycolour 193  - Overview?

Hycolour 193 has been specifically formulated to be an extremely durable paint style, coloured coating system. It outperforms many other colour demarcation paints by lasting that much longer and has received certification for highway use in many countries. A wide range of UV stable colours are available. Hycolour 193 has good slip/skid resistance and is suitable for vehicular and pedestrian requirements.

It is the perfect solution for highways, multi-storey and outdoor car parks, central reservations, cycle ways, car park bays in retail parks, airports, docking ramps, factories, steps, footbridges, playgrounds, road junctions, schools and pedestrian crossings.

Technical

Hycolour 193 is a two component, uniquely formulated acrylic urethane hybrid resin system. It is a cold applied system that can be either rollered or sprayed. To achieve a higher level of skid resistance, fine aggregate can be back rolled into the wet paint. Hycolour is supplied as a pack of between 24kg and 26kg (dependent on colour) made up approximately as follows: Base 21kg drum and Activator 5 kg drum.

Application

Hycolour 193 must be applied to a sound, clean substrate, at a specific thickness of a maximum of 600 microns per coat.  Providing it is applied no greater than this thickness and at a temperature of 20°C one pack will approximately cover 25-50m³ when roller applied. The coverage anticipated is dependent upon the surface texture depth of the installation area and the selected colour.
